Baley Deployment FAQ
Deploying Baley: Your Sanctions, PEP, and Adverse Media Screening Alert Review Analyst.
How do I Get Started with Baley Deployment?
You'll begin with a kickoff meeting with our onboarding team. Most teams start with a pilot: Baley runs on a sample of your customers so you can see its results before any integration work. Together, we'll then agree on the best production implementation strategy for your context and walk through what to expect. We'll send over all the relevant information during the process.
Pilot Deployment
A structured three-step process to try Baley on your own data, with first results within a week.
| Step | Focus | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Step 01 — Alignment | Introductions, mutual understanding, and alignment on next steps | A kickoff meeting to agree on what to expect from the pilot, how we'll configure Baley for your screening policy and how your data will be handled. |
| Step 02 — Run Baley | Your customer data, Baley in the Axle app | You fill in the Baley data template with a sample of your customers and send it to us over SFTP. We run Baley on it in the Axle app, and you review the results there. No integration is required for the pilot. |
| Step 03 — Tune | Your analysts' decisions, Baley adjusted to your policy | We compare Baley's recommendations with your analysts' decisions on the same customers. Where they differ, we tune Baley to your screening policy and SOP. We'll also show you how to send feedback on its recommendations. |
Can I Run the Pilot on Existing Alerts?
If your screening provider already raises alerts and your analysts review them, the quickest way to see what Baley can do is to give it alerts your team has already decided. Baley reviews the same hits your analysts did, and we compare its recommendations with their decisions.
Include alerts your analysts had to review by hand, not ones that were auto-resolved, and a mix of alert types (for example sanctions, PEP and adverse media). A few hundred alerts per type to measure results.
Which Screening Providers Does Baley Work With?
Our agents are designed to work with multiple screening providers, so you can use the one you prefer. We currently support LexisNexis, ComplyAdvantage and Persona. If you already have a contract with one of them, Baley can screen through your own account.
Using a different provider? Tell us which one: we can easily add a connector.
How do we Send Customer Data to Baley?
Most teams start in the Axle app during the pilot, then move to the API or a provider connection for production. To share files with us, such as your pilot sample, SFTP is the method commonly used by our customers to send data securely.
| Option | How it works | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Axle App | Add a case on the Add Case form, or upload a CSV using our individuals or businesses template. Baley screens each customer and reviews the hits; your analysts see the results in the app. | Pilots, backlogs and periodic reviews. No integration needed. |
| Direct API integration | Your system sends us the provider's alert ID, or the full alert as JSON, with your customer's details. We notify you through webhooks when results are ready. API reference: https://docs.axleruns.com/reference/api-overview-baley | Real-time screening at onboarding, with full control over timing and payloads. |
| Provider Connection | Connect your screening provider account to Axle. Baley picks up new alerts as they're raised and starts investigations automatically. Results wait for your analysts in the app. | Teams without engineering resources. |
What Data do you Need From Us?
The more you share about your customer, the more hits Baley can confidently clear. To upload customers to Baley yourself, use the ready-to-upload CSV template for individuals or businesses.
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| Individuals | The Baley Data Template is the recommended minimum to get started | Middle name; date of birth; country of birth, residence, nationality and citizenship; address (street, city, state, postal code); email; gender; occupation; a headshot photo |
| Businesses | The business name | Registration number, tax identification number, website, and address (street, city, state, postal code, country) |
How do we Send a Customer's Photo?
Baley compares your customer's photo with the photos on the provider's record and on the web, so a photo helps it clear hits that are obviously someone else. Photos can be PNG, JPEG, GIF or WebP, up to 32MB.
- In the Axle app: drag and drop the photo onto the Add Case form.
- In a CSV upload: put a link to the image in the
headshot_imagecolumn. The link must end in the file extension, for example.jpg. - Through the API: send
headshot_imageas a publicly accessible URL or as a base64-encoded image.
How are Results Delivered Back to Us?
You can get results in three ways, all built from the same underlying data:
- The Axle App: each investigation with its hits and Baley's recommendations. You can also download the result as a PDF export.
- A consolidated PDF report: per investigation, ready to attach to your case. Request it via the API and you'll get a webhook when it's ready.
- Structured Results: via the API, with each hit's recommendation, the outcome of every check, and the reasoning and evidence behind it. See https://docs.axleruns.com/reference/enhanced-due-diligence-edd-investigation-response-documentation
I am concerned with security, are your digital workers private, single-tenant instances?
Yes. We use private, single-tenant instances exclusively, with no public LLM APIs.
What are the data retention policies?
We retain data for 90 days after contract termination.
